Shadows

It’s the afternoon, and you’re standing in the sun. You look down and what is the first thing you see? I see my shadow. Then you dismiss the thought. Just a shadow, right? Well, I believe that shadows are our “parallel universe”. The theories about parallel universes are interesting, but what’s more interesting, is the stories that have been told. People have written that they’ve experienced an alternate world, something completely different from this one. Those stories, who knows if they’re true or not? But what I’m thinking about right now (and has been on my mind for a few days now) is shadows. The ground we walk on, the things we see; they all have shadows. So, what if there was a parallel world that existed in the shadows. The shadows are “part” of us, created by the sun’s brightness. Since they’re “part” of us, they walk on the same ground as us. They stand there when we stand, move when we move. When we go into a place with no sun to cast light over, they’re gone; like us. No one really notices others anyways, everyone is so concerned about themselves. Shadows, they disappear when they go into other shadows; they all blend in together.
We’re always walking in someone else’s shadow; and we don't even know it.

Apocalypse

Remember December 21, 2012? Yeah, that was a long time ago. But does anyone clearly remember what they were doing that day? I don't really think so. Even if it was supposedly going to be the end of the world, I think people would dismiss this as any ordinary day, after all nothing happened right? Wrong. You're entirely wrong. Just because it's another ordinary day for you, it's not the same in other parts of the world. There are people out there who live in apocalypse everyday. Homeless people, poor people, depressed people, slaves you name it. Though I'm not sure if there are still slaves to this day, but there were some in the past. What do you think life is like for them? They have to work harder than ever to have a better life. In school, the people I walk among, they really only care about grades. If they get a B, they think they've epicly failed. Wow. Have they never thought about other people who don't have that luxury? Other people are in situations that people probably think they're never going be in because of their parents' money. But that's not the only thing that'll affect you; it's your emotions too. How you perceive people is how you're going to act around them.
So can you think of an ordinary day, a simple ordinary day, and can you think of something good that happened that day? Think of everyday as not simple, but unique. Everyday is a new day, not a pattern.

Observation: Moon in the Sky

So, this is just a little observation thing that I made a few months ago. I might post these type of things from time to time, just for the heck of it :P

12/22/2012-late evening/going into night
The sky looks so dreary, with black soot in the air; dark rain clouds. The gray-black clouds blend in well with the falling night sky. The clouds look like an accessory for the sky to wear, an enhancement that makes the sky look mysterious. But then again, how there is a sky near the bottom of earth's globe is beyond me. After all, a globe is a sphere, so how can the sky hold in the air at the bottom? Then again, how can life move down there? Gravity has very mysterious bearings. The sky has grown darker, and the almost full moon is being covered/uncovered by the black dust. The moon is so white, with the occasional crater leaving gray spots on its pearl like skin. Ah, the moon has been completely covered by the clouds, I wonder when the clouds will move and it'll show its face again... It's being constantly wrapped by the clouds, yet that's not the truth. The moon is actually far away in outer space, out of reach of the clouds' reach. It's really our vision of the moon that's being blocked, so we can't see the moon when the clouds move over its position. They sky has gone almost completely black now...you can't distinguish between the sky and the clouds anymore.

Born Evil?

In literature class, we are just about to start reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding. People in other classes have said that it's interesting, other people hated it. I have yet to read it, but from what I've heard, it seems like a unique book. I'm not quite sure of the details, but I think it's something about the evil in human nature. We read a short story/article that Golding wrote about forty years after he wrote Lord of the Flies. The short story/article is called Why Boys Become Vicious. It talked about how boys needed their families to guide them, otherwise, they could go down the wrong path. Golding also stated that everyone was born with evil in them. And so, this piece of writing got me thinking. At first, I was on the fence (stuck in between agreeing, or disagreeing). I think that humans aren't born with evil in their hearts. How can they be? They're just new to the world, how can they know things with an empty mind? It's only during their childhood when they start experiencing the world, that evil can start to worm its way into their hearts. But on the other hand, I also think that humans can be born with evil in their hearts. Humans are a very advanced species (right?) and who's to say that they aren't born with evil? How can you know, you can't peer into someone's heart and look. Everywhere we look, we can see hints of the cruelty in humans, it's that simple. Just take the time to look, and observe people of different ages, how they react and how they speak. Can you tell if they were born with evil in them or not? Can you tell if they even have evil in them? I believe everyone has evil in them, whether or not they were born with it.

School

Ah, school. All the young kiddies and teens gotta go to school. Some may say it is dreadful, others may like it. However, by state law, you have to go to school. But that's only in this country. What about other countries, do the poor get to go to school? No, because they're too poor, they barely have enough money to feed themselves. So why are we complaining about school? School is a place to learn, a place to meet new friends. Other unfortunate children do not have this opportunity. They wish to go to school, but they can't. They have to stay home and take care if their younger siblings while their parents try to find work. Or, they might even have to go to work themselves! You need food in your body to live, and you need money for that. You ask this: where's the government? Why isn't the government helping them? Wait, are talking about our government or theirs? There's a big difference between our government and theirs. They live in another country for god's sake! But shouldn't our government be helping their government? Why isn't ours doing that? The world's supposed to be great nowadays. But no, we deal with our matters, they deal with theirs. So cherish the chance you have to be able to even go to school.
